The purpose of Guest Access is to allow an individual, outside the University of Central Florida (UCF) community, into an online course. For example, you might have a guest speaker who is moderating a discussion topic.

There are two ways to acquire "Help" when using WebCT. You can access either the manual and tutorials created specifically for instructors at UCF (in PDF format) or the "Help" feature available within WebCT.
UCF's Faculty WebCT Manual is available from the Teaching Online homepage. You will find the Faculty WebCT Manual icon at the bottom of the page.
WebCT "Help" Feature
There are two ways to acquire "Help" when using WebCT. You can access either the manual and tutorials created specifically for instructors at UCF (in PDF format) or the "Help" feature available within WebCT.
WebCT has a built in, online "Help" index for students and faculty. The Index is organized by Tools (discussions, quizzes, chat, etc.) and then by tool task.
For example:
You would like to know how to delete Course Mail. You would first go to "Help" and locate the tool "Mail" and then search for tutorial on "deleting mail."
There are two ways to access "Help" content.
- Log into your WebCT account
- From the WebCT homepage you can click the "Help" link from the Menu Bar and then select the tool from the Index. From the tool tutorial select the task you would like to complete.
Or
- From the WebCT homepage click the button for the tool you would like to use, then select "Help" from the Menu Bar. The Index for that specific tool will be displayed.
