Learning Online Orientation

How do I help students adjust to Webcourses@UCF?

There is a student orientation provided for Webcourses@UCF. Unlike the orientation provided at Learning Online, the student orientation for Webcourses@UCF is located inside your course in the form of a module.

The module contains information on the various tools and features inside Webcourses@UCF. There is an optional quiz that appears in the Assessment tool.

Below are the instructions on how to import the student orientation module into your course.

How to add the Student Orientation Module

  1. Login to http://webcourses.ucf.edu/ and click the link to enter your production section (the one with the section number).
  2. From the "Build" Tab, select "Manage Course" and then click the "Import" link.
  3. Click on the "Repository" icon then, click the second "University of Central Florida" link.
  4. Click the radio button next to "student_orientation.zip" and then click the "OK" button.
  5. The "Content Import in Progress" screen comes up. When finished, click the "Return" button.
  6. "Student Orientation" will now appear under the "Learning Modules" button.

If you do not see the Learning Modules button:

Click "Manage Course", then click the "Tools" link, place a check mark next to "Learning Module", and then click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

To add a link to the Student Orientation from the Course Content Home Page (*note, you must first add a link to Learning Modules under Course Tools):

  1. Click the "Build" tab.
  2. Click the "Add Content Link" button on the Home Page and select "Learning Modules."
  3. From the list that appears, select "Student Orientation" and click the "Add Selected" button.
