- Things to Think About – Best Practices
Online content delivery differs from face-to-face delivery. Now that you have an online account, how do you plan to present the content? This section lists a number of ideas, e.g., best practices that have worked well for many UCF instructors. - Instructional Design of an Online Course
Using a specific system of design can be beneficial when creating online courses. The following section outlines one instructional design model, the ADDIE process. Information about additional design models is also provided. - Media & Message Design Tutorial
When developing content for your online course, you should take advantage of all of the available functionality of the online teaching environment. Page layout, formatting, and the use of color and graphics all add to the instructional value of the materials that you design. When considering media for instructional purposes, you will encounter a wide range of possibilities. More often than not, different media types accomplish the same instructional goal. Ultimately, the decision of whether to incorporate media in your course and identifying the best media type should be based on finding a balance among different pedagogical, technological, and logistical variables involved. Reading this section will help you in that decision making process.
