Dear Ms. Lantier:
Per our conversation yesterday, I am sending this fax to ask for permission to use one of your publications for educational purposes. Our office develops web-based courses for distributed learning at the University of Central Florida.
We are asking copyright permission to produce a videotape of a student reading aloud your book, "A New Dress for Mia" (ISBN 08-368-7138), to a group of children. The purpose of the tape is to help the students taking Children's Literature class, LAE3414, learn how to effectively model storytelling. The intention is not to focus on the content of your book, but rather the method of storytelling. The videotape will be sold, at no profit, to the students in the class as required class materials.
We would also like permission to use the videotape to allow students to access the audio and video stream digitally via the on-line course pages. Access to these web materials will be restricted to registered students, who will be using a password.
In addition, we would like permission to show the video tape at educational conferences and in traditional classroom settings.
We hope to tape this on September 12, so your quick response would be very appreciated. If you have any questions, you can contact me at (407) 823-3718.
Sincerely,
Ima Prof, PhD
Associate Professor
