Way Beyond The Basics
Professional Development
As a part of Course Development & Web Services' (CDWS) mission to "support teaching, learning, and research with advanced applications of instructional and informational technology," two initiatives were established:
- a process for identifying and meeting the performance needs of the UCF community
- a means by which relationships with other institutions (possibly leading to partnership) may be formed
These initiatives have resulted in the Distributed Learning Seminar and Workshop Series presented by the Partnership for the Advancement of Distributed Learning. The seminars provide higher education faculty and staff with an opportunity to stay current on best practices and innovations in distributed learning within a collegial setting. The workshops provide higher education faculty with a resource-rich, hands-on venue for developing a variety of multimedia components for their online courses. Each 2-3 hour workshop is hands-on and results in a tangible outcome or measurable skill.
