Are you ready to migrate your online course to a new LMS?
One of the many benefits of upgrading UCF’s learning management system (LMS) is the prospect of incorporating social learning technologies such as blogs and wikis into our online courses. The new enhancements and features are exciting.
Moving to a new system doesn’t have to be painful; a little preparation can go a long way with regard to successfully migrating your online course sections. Start by systematically reviewing your courses and fixing any problems you find. For example: fix bad or broken links, especially those pointing to websites outside of your course; delete duplicate or unnecessary files as well as old backup files; and update old information and calendar dates. You know you meant to do this anyway.
Accessibility and Content in the Online Course Environment
Abstract: As new and exciting technologies emerge, many of us are compelled to incorporate them into our online courses. Yet how do we face the challenge of ensuring that all of our students, including those with visual and hearing impairments, learning disabilities, and non-native English speakers, can access these materials? In this session, presenters will discuss a variety of strategies, resources, and services that will help us make online course materials accessible. Ideas and concerns of on-site and remote participants will be solicited. The goal of this session is constructive and practical dialogue with colleagues.
